MotoGP: Marquez: the futuro? Honda the priority, but I'll listen to everyone

Marc Marquez is not only the favourite for the 2018 title, in virtue of the #1 on his front fairing, but is also the most prized piece in the puzzle that is the 2019-2020 rider market. As we've said on many occasions, this season is gearing up to be an exciting one, considering that the contracts of almost all the top riders will be up for renewal.

All expect one in fact, as Vinales has already renewed with Yamana for another two years, while we know that his team-mate Valentino Rossi is also very close to signing.

This doesn't mean that Marquez has no choice. Honda is a sure thing, the bike with which he has won 4 titles in 5 years but there comes a time when every rider is strongly tempted to make a change. The challenge of winning with another manufacturer is appealing, with no shortage of examples of riders who were keen to do just that, Agostini and Lorenzo to name but two.

Marc has spoken about his future during an event organised by sponsor Repsol, confirming that he's not closing any doors.

I've always said that Honda will be the first I talk to, both my head and heart tell me that they are my priority. But in the end I also need to listen and pay attention to other manufacturers too", he states.

The 'others' are undoubtedly Ducati, which can offer a very competitive bike, and KTM, which could attract the champion with a record-breaking salary.

I've already started talking to Honda- adds Marquez - I'm not in any rush right now, we'll see how things develop”.
