From 2018 to 2022, for a total of 5 events to arrange and host. The Magny-Cours track, located in central France, has renewed its agreement with Dorna, that wants the production-derived series to remain in Burgundy, also exploiting Loris Baz's participation in the series, the rider currently racing with team Althea's BMW.

Baz himself was on hand at the conference, during which Serge Saulnier – the circuit's president – along with Daniel Carrera and Marc Saurina on behalf of Dorna, announced the renewed agreement.

A technical, selective track, where the strange weather conditions often affect the outcome of races, the Magny-Cours track is a Superbike “classic”. Built as an F1 facility, it has also hosted the MotoGP championship, truck races and GT races. Regardless of weather it's hot, sunny, wet or cold, the French motorsport fans are always out in force at these events.

Saulnier is understandably pleased, as is Carrera: for the next 5 years, the Magny-Cours track will put on a show and ensure great racing, we're ready to return and cannot wait”.

Many championships have been decided at the French track, during the very last race. One key example is James Toseland who, in 2004, was able to beat team-mate Regis Laconi with his Ducati 999, crushing the home crowd.
