Drama in Argentina: Van Beveren pulls out

The RAID's leader is forced to wave the white flag after a crash left him with a fractured collarbone and chest trauma

Argentina is really putting riders to the test and the first to pay the price is Adrien Van Beveren. Incredible, but true! The French rider, who was leading the RAID, has been forced to wave the white flag, just as he was beginning to dream big. During stage ten, 800 km in length and leading from Salta to Belen, the Yamaha rider crashed out around three kilometres from the finish line.

A disastrous crash, that left him with a fractured collarbone and chest trauma. The helicopter extracted the Frenchman and took him to the bivouac. Meanwhile, Matthias Walkner was looking to be the quickest in the special.
