The weather delays testing at Portimao, setback for Ioda

The two-day test at Portimao hasn't got off to the best start. Despite sunshine, the Portuguese track is still wet after heavy rainfall yesterday. Only two riders have taken to the track so far, with rain tyres, and they are Lorenzo Savadori and Marco Melandri.

Teams hope for better conditions this afternoon. Jordi Torres is absent, forced to wave the white flag due to an arm injury resulting from Wednesday's crash at Jerez. Raffaele De Rosa stands in for him. Riccardo Russo is also present, starting work with Guandalini.

The Ioda team is struck by bad luck. The ferry carrying their material from the port of Civitavecchia has been delayed by ten house. Material should arrive at Portimao this afternoon, after which Mercado will try to make his first laps on the Aprilia.
