Team Pedercini, the historic Italian squad headed up by Lucio and his family, is changing its name, to be known from now on as Team Pedercini SC Project, thanks to the technical collaboration and support offered by the Milanese bike exhaust and silencer company.
Presented today at the MBE show in Verona, the Italian team, as well as having a new name, also has renewed goals and a top level rider in the shape of Alex De Angelis, the sole rider for a team ready to take on the factory outfits, as already happened on several occasions last year. The Kawasaki ZX10RR is ready for its first test, taking place at Almeria, in Spain..
Lucio, pleased and enthusiastic, promises the usual commitment: “last year we regularly gave our rivals trouble, reaching the top ten several times with Anthony West and coming fifth with Leon Haslam in Qatar, demonstrating the great potential of our bike and team. That fifth place is our starting point this year. Alex will use the first races as a test but I'm confident”.
De Angelis is strong in the wet, among other things…
“I'm also aiming to be strong in the dry. I have to thank the fans and the team, they are the added value in our work. I'm so busy that, even if I wanted to, I don't have to time to get on this bike. I'll leave it to the youngsters”.
Alex De Angelis is younger and equally motivated: “I'm very pleased and curious, the bike and team are valid. I can't wait to test the ZX10RR for the first time at Almeria. I have renewed motivation and we won't give up”.
