The 2017 edition of the Superprestigio loses its star, or rather Marc Marquez. The Dirt Track race that takes place at the Palau Saint Jordi in Barcelona has been an unmissable event for the Spaniard for several years, in a similar way to the Monza Rally Show is for Valentino Rossi. The event, set to take place on 16 December, will have to do without the six-time champion.

A real blow for the fans, who won't have the chance to see the Spanish phenomenon in action. Marc wanted to explain the reasons behind his choice: "The 2017 MotoGP season has been a very tough and stressful one. I'm really happy and proud of my sixth title, my fourth in MotoGP. Now it's time for a rest though. I've been lucky enough to win the Superprestigio on two occasions and now it's time for other Spanish riders to win this race”.

Despite the Honda rider's absence, fans will be able to cheer on another MotoGP rider in the shape of Johann Zarco, riding the Tech3 Yamah after what has a been an amazing debut year in the top class. Will he be the star of the show?
