MotoGP, Zarco: "I have the pace to aim for the win"

"In the early laps I need to be out front. The 2017 M1 not very competitive? I don't think so, Rossi and Viñales are ahead of me in the championship standings"

MotoGP: Zarco:

The opportunity is just too golden and Johann Zarco has absolutely no intention of letting it slip away. The Frenchman will start from the front row tomorrow alongside Marquez and he is dreaming big. In his mind, the goal is to aim directly for the win.

I am trying to learn more and more after every session and I am happy with the result – the Tech3 rider began – I don’t have anything to lose and tomorrow I’ll be on the track giving it my all as I always have.”

However, he is not the only one aiming for the top step of the podium.

“Iannone has shown that he is very fast, as has Lorenzo – he analysed - Maybe Marquez will be more on the defensive this time. I am still confident because I think I have the race pace to aim for the win.”

Zarco has some clear ideas about what to do at the start.

Lorenzo is always very competitive. He knows very well how to tackle the first corner – he analysed – so I cannot afford to lose too many positions. The best thing would be to be in first or second place.”

In Valencia the season comes to an end and his mind is on 2018.

I have great faith in the material that Yamaha will provide for me – Zarco highlighted – On Monday I’ll talk to the team and then we’ll see what to do to improve for 2018, deciding how to work on the M1.”

The 2017 version Yamaha is certainly not at the same level as Ducati ad Honda.

If there were something wrong with the bike, Rossi and Viñales wouldn’t be ahead of me in the championship standings – he analysed – I don’t think that the M1 is not very competitive as many are saying. I trust in the work of the Japanese since they do not make mistakes.
