On track at Sepang, the riders found themselves riding over some black rectangular marks on track. Some thought they were patches designed to reduce the problem of standing water that has been an issue since the track was resurfaced.

"In reality - explained Jarno Staffelli, of Studio Dromo, the company that carries out work on track - this is just a surface treatment, a kind of sealing that prevents water from penetrating deep down or becoming stagnant. We've don so by using marks, and this explains the rectangular marks. They are black because I suggested recreating the original colour... but they didn't listen to me".

We spoke to Capirossi about during tests HERE.
