MotoGP: Marquez; "It's time to think about the championship"

It's curtains up on the final stage of the triple-header at Sepang. In Thursday's press conference, Marc Marquez is the first to take the microphone: “This is a special weekend. One of the main goals is to conclude the race with the same mentality, thinking about the championship. I'll try to push hard right from free practice in order to be well prepared for the race, seeing as there are several fast riders”.

Marc is well aware that the Ducati may have an extra gear in Malaysia: “This isn't one of my favourite tracks, but I was consistent here in the winter. Right now, I have a significant lead but it's not enough”. The Spaniard then refers back to Australia: “I rewatched the race on the computer and am happy about the race and the battles. I like races like that, but this time I'd prefer a quieter one. As for the contact made, I think it was also within limits”.

Maverick Vinales listens in and comments: “I didn't expect to be on the podium last Sunday, especially after fighting with Iannone on the last laps. The team worked well in Australia and I'm confident we can do the same again in Malaysia”.

Sepang is a track at which #25 feels comfortable: “I like the track and can be quick here, even in difficult conditions. Phillip Island is a unique track of course but I'm sure that we can enjoy a similar show here at Sepang”.
