MotoGP: Marquez: "Sepang? One of the toughest races"

The MotoGP moves on to Malaysia and Marc Marquez is sharpening his weapons ahead of his first match point. The Spaniard now has a 33-point lead over Dovizioso following the recent Australian round. A reassuring situation then for the Honda rider: “We are happy of course to go to Malaysia having won at Phillip Island. I knew that it was very important to get a good result in Australia and try to open a bit of a gap before Sepang."

Despite Dovizioso being forced to play catch-up, the five-time champ is not about to lower his guard: "I think the Malaysian round is one of the more difficult races in terms of the physical conditions. One of the main thing there is the humidity and the high temperatures of course. I'll try my best to manage the race and am pleased about the new asphalt which offers better grip.”

There are other riders who dream of a comeback. One such man is Dani Pedrosa, left outside of the top ten at Phillip Island: “We look forward to racing in Malaysia, a place of which we have some very good memories. It’s not an easy round as weather conditions are pretty extreme."

The track itself is also tough: “The layout is demanding: the track is quite wide and the corners are different one from the other so you need to find a good line in order to be fast. That said, we know we can be competitive if we can find a good setup, so we’ll try to start strong right from Friday to be able to fight for a good result on Sunday".
