The October triple-header sees the circus move on to Phillip Island. Here are all the stats on the Australian round.
- The first two Australian GPs were held at Phillip Island, before the event moved to Eastern Creek for six years. 1997 saw a return to the Beach Road track.
- Honda is the manufacturer that has won the most at the Australian track, with seven victories, including those of the last two years.
- Ducati has achieved four race wins, all with Casey Stoner between 2007 and 2010.
- Yamaha has won on four occasions, once with Jorge Lorenzo and three with Valentino Rossi, most recently in 2014.
- The 2014 Australian GP podium was made up entirely of Yamaha riders, the last time such a result was seen.
- The 2016 podium comprised riders who had to first take on Q1.
- Valentino Rossi has won more races than anyone else at Phillip Island, eight in fact (2 in 250cc, one in 500cc, and five in MotoGP™), Casey Stoner has one six in MotoGP™.
- Casey Stoner won at the Island on six consecutive occasions, from 2007 to 2012, the last five times from pole position.
- Four of the current riders have been on pole at the Australian track: Valentino Rossi in 2003, Dani Pedrosa in 2007, Jorge Lorenzo in 2013 and Marc Marquez in the last three years.
- Eleven of the fourteen GP races that have taken place at Phillip Island have been won by Casey Stoner (6 wins) and Valentino Rossi (5 wins). The other three winners: Marco Melandri (2006), Jorge Lorenzo (2013) and Marc Marquez (2015).
