The Motegi round will have a special flavour for Joan Mir. The Spanish rider has a first chance to get his hands on the Moto3 title, getting the job done ahead of time. In the Leopard camp, there is also great anticipation ahead of Livio Loi's return.

During qualifying at Misano, the Belgian rider was hit by Gabriel Rodrigo's KTM along the central straight, resulting in a fractured collarbone. An injury that forced him to miss both the Misano and Aragon rounds. He's now ready to get back on the bike.

The rider is now back in shape after following a rehabilitation programme. On Thursday he will visit the circuit medical centre for a tech-up after which, providing he gets the doctors' OK, he'll be back on his Honda.
