The Superbikes are already looking to 2018 and there is already some early news regarding next season's calendar. It looks like Brno will be back, while Phillip Island has been confirmed once more as host of the season-opener. Then there are some changes, one of which affects the Laguna Seca round.

The American round, which has traditionally taken place in early July will take place in June next season, over the weekend of 22 to 24  June to be precise: “We're excited to welcome the Superbikes again next season - stated Gill Campbell, manager of the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - it is an honour to be the only circuit in the United States to host this international race series in which some of the world's best riders compete. The fans that flock to the Monterey Peninsula each year are clearly passionate about the great show on offer".

At first there was talk of postponing the race to late July, clashing with the Suzuka 8 Hours, but this has not happened in the end. There shouldn't be any clash with the MotoGP by holding the race over the weekend of 22-24 June.
