Marquez's win at Misano marked a particular milestone, it was in fact the first victory in the wet to be scored by a rider using carbon brakes. Up until a few years ago, this would have seemed impossible, but Brembo has been working in this direction for a while already and now the myth has been debunked.

Not for nothing, Marc was also one of the first rider who wanted to test this solution, starting with the Malaysia tests a couple of years ago. Of the three riders on the podium, the Spaniard was the only one to use carbon discs, while Petrucci and Dovizioso went with the classic steel option.

"A victory that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago and that breaks down the simple pairing of carbon with dry conditions and steel with wet conditions - cites the Brembo press release - The triumph was made possible by the sensational improvements Brembo has made to its carbon discs over the past few years. Thanks to the material used and the increasingly precise production processes, carbon discs have evolved significantly. A result that confirms that technical innovation is part of Brembo's imprinting.
