One of the greatest images from the GP of Misano (from a sporting point of view) was the one depicting Zarco as he pushed his Yamaha toward the finish line.

I had Redding close, everything was ready for the attack on the last lap - the Tech3 Frenchman recounts - Unfortunately, I ran out of fuel 5 turns from the end and it was a real shame. I managed to make it to the last turn and then my M1 stopped.”

However, Johann did not give up. He gripped the handlebars and prepared for the final sprint, perhaps the most tiring part of his entire race.

I pushed the bike for the entire straight and i is very long - he continued - Some riders overtook me and it was a shame, but I wanted to make it to the finish because that is my way of racing. I finished 15th, which means only one point, but it's better than nothing.”

The finishing order did not reward Zarco for his efforts, but perhaps the applause from the crowd made it somewhat less of a bitter pill.
