MotoGP, Iannone: Misano? I'll prove that we're growing

The Maniac hopes to turn the page after disappointment at Silverstone, Rins: "We need to face this race with confidence and optimism"

MotoGP: Iannone: Misano? I'll prove that we're growing

Last year's Misano round proved to be a disappointing one for Andrea Iannone. A fractured vertebra, sustained in Friday's practice, forced the Italian to sit out the rest of his home round. Now The Maniac wants to make amends, riding a Suzuki with which he's still looking for the right confidence.

The Italian round comes two weeks after the crash in the UK: “Unfortunately I struggled at Silverstone – he states - I didn´t feel very confident in the race, but it’s strange because in practice we had made some important improvements."

The Maniac has very clear ideas now though: "We must capitalize more on the improvement we make and demonstrate this in the races. Let’s start back to Misano with a better understanding, and find more competitiveness, with the hope of getting better results.”

On the other side of the garage is Alex Rins, who is chomping at the bit. Yes, because his ninth place finish at Silverstone was his best result of the season so far, along with that scored at season-opener Qatar: “At Silverstone we succeeded in completing a positive weekend - comments the Spaniard - We were able to set a good pace from the first practice session, which is crucial in this category. We were also very close to getting direct access to Q2 and the pace in the race was consistent and fast.

The Spaniard sees the glass as half full: These are positive things that help me gain more and more confidence and to head to Misano with a good attitude. The Misano circuit is one I’ve always liked, and I am sure I will be able to gain a greater understanding of my GSX-RR."
