Marcel Schrotter, having missed the Austrian GP due to a fractured scaphoid and subsequent surgery, will not compete at Silverstone either. Team Dynavolt Intact GP has selected Jake Dixon to replace him. The 21-year old competes in British Superbike with Kawasaki and is currently 7th in the standings, having scored 2 wins and 4 podiums so far this season.
This marks Jake's debut in the Moto2 world championship: “I'm very excited about this big opportunity. A big thank you to Dynavolt Intact GP to give me the chance to ride and a big thank you to my RAF team boss in Britain to allow me to take part. It will be an experience, which is for sure great after I've been watching the MotoGP for many years on TV. I know Silverstone very well and have won there in the past. Sure the Moto2 will be a bit different to the Superbike, but also I think that many things will be quite similar."
