The chance to turn the page after the bitter Brno round is just around the corner and Andrea Iannone knows it well. In fact, the Austrian track brings back magical memories for the Italian rider, winner last year astride his Ducati. That Sunday is unforgettable for him: “This track has a special meaning for me, since this is where I took my first MotoGP win – he recalled – It will therefore be further motivation to be competitive and to bring home a positive result.”

The keyword is undoubtedly redemption: “I want to forget the last race and start over from the steps forward taken in the tests on Monday – he commented – Some improvements were made that gave me more confidence in the Suzuki and I am happy to be getting right back on the track.”

On the other side of the garage, there is a desire to confirm a good trend, since the ninth place finish in the Czech Republic gave Alex Rins great self-awareness. This is his second best result since moving up to the premier class, after his ninth place in Qatar: “The latest tests allowed us to take an important step forward – the Spaniard said – at the same time allowing us to achieve positive results. However, we need to be patient and keep going on this path.”

The Suzuki rider is confident anyway: “I am convinced that all of our efforts will give us the results we are hoping for – he added – Now my mind is focused exclusively on Austria where I have good memories of the race last year in Moto2.”
