With 5 rounds and 10 races still to run, the final result is not up for debate - Jonathan Rea already has more than one hand on a third consecutive title - so, left to make the news, are regulation updates and market news.
Directly from Superstock 1000 (which seems to have reached the end of its days) is Turkish Kawasaki rider Toprak Razgatlioglu, currently second in the championship, one point from leader Michael Ruben Rinaldi with the Ducati Panigale.
Toprak, a student of sultan and fellow countryman Kenan Sofuoglu, is a team Puccetti soldier and the same team that launched him in the European series is now set to promote him to the top class: “next year Razgatlioglu will move up from the Superstock to Superbike -confirms team manager Manuel Puccetti- the rider's contract with Kawasaki Europa is direct and valid for one season”.
What type of bike will Toprak have?
“The engine will be that of our team and, once we understand how next year's regulation will be, we'll start from the technical base that we have now. Depending on the new regulation, we'll define the details directly with Kawasaki”.
Will he have a team-mate?
“As we've known for a while, my target is Leon Haslam, in fact I've made him an offer for next year. By the Lausitzring round, Leon should tell me if he's going to accept or not. If he accepts, Kawasaki Europa would provide even more support”.
Randy Krummenacher will leave?
“I like Randy, I've proposed a dedicated junior team to him in 600 Supersport. Kenan Sofuoglu will stay where is he of course, following Toprak as he's done until now”.
