Moto3: Rodrigo takes surprising pole at Brno

A dry track and sunny skies. The Moto3 riders took advantage of these conditions during qualifying, using slick tyres while working to complete the perfect lap and score a solid grid position. After various crashes during the opening stages, including one for Nicolò Bulega, the final minutes saw riders complete a time attack, with a surprise entry at the top of the timesheets.

Gabriel Rodrigo, despite a crash early on, was able to get the job done, setting a 2’08”571 that was enough for him to secure pole position. Behind the Argentinian is Romano Fenati (+0.150), who led for a few seconds before being overtaken by Rodrigo, while the front row is rounded out by Juanfran Guevara (+0.303), ensuring a perfect day for team RBA. The second row includes championship leader Mir (+0.396), Nicolò Bulega (+0.400) and Bo Bendsneyder riding the KTM for team Ajo.

Seventh for Marcos Ramirez, ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio (+0.571), who has done a lot better than yesterday, while the top ten is completed by Loi and Oettl.  Niccolò Antonelli finishes outside the top ten, 12th ahead of Tatsuki Suzuki and Andrea Migno, who crashed n on the final lap.
