The countdown has begun. Still 20 days to wait until the grand finale of the Endurance World championship: the Suzuka 8 Hours. After last weeks' Manufacturers & Tyre tests, teams are back on track today for an official three-day test.

This is a last chance for them to sharpen their weapons ahead of the conclusive round later this month. 59 of the 69 teams that will line up on are taking part in this test. Among them is the Yamaha Factory team, which missed last week's test due to Lowes and van der Mark's commitments at Laguna Seca. The two riders will be flanked by test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga. Alongside them is the GMT94 team, with David Checa, Mike Di Meglio and Niccolò Canepa.

In the championship standings, this team lies second, just one point behind Suzuki SERT. The latter is also taking part in testing, as is team Honda HARC-PRO, entrusting its bikes to Takahashi, Nakagami and Jack Miller, who makes his debut in the Endurance series. Let's not forget another Honda team, or rather FCC TSR, competing with Stefan Bradl, another rookie. The German will be joined by Aegerter and De Puniet.

From now until Thursday the teams will be divided into two groups, A and B, while tomorrow evening there will be a combined session lasting 70 minutes.
