Moto3 grid penalties are the order of the day, and the same is true at the Sachsenring. This time it was Danny Kent, on track in place of injured Niccolò Antonelli, and Maria Herrera to come under investigation by the FIM stewards panel.

The British and Spanish riders have been punished for having slowed down in more than three sectors of the track during FP1, exceeding the 110% limit with respect to their best laps through those sectors. Their behaviour was deemed irresponsible and dangerous in terms of other riders' safety.

The punishment is the same as in previous cases, or rather 12 positions on Sunday's race grid. Danny Kent finished in 17th overall place today, while Maria Herrera is 30th.
