Alex Marquez to stay in Moto2 in 2018

Moto2: Alex Marquez to stay in Moto2 in 2018

Alex Marquez will stay in Moto2 for another year, regardless of how this season finishes. The Spaniard has now signed with team Marc VDS. He will ride alongside rookie Joan Mir, who will take Franco Morbidelli's bike when the latter moves to MotoGP.

Alex was expected to make the same move, but he prefers to stay in the intermediate class and fight for the title.

"For me there was no better place to go; this is the best team for me and I really feel part of the family here - stated Marquez - The stability is also important, so I'm happy that my crew will remain unchanged for 2018. To know where you're riding the following year is good for the confidence."

At this point Marc VDS need only decide who will ride its remaining bike, with Miller in with a strong chance.
