MotoGP, New asphalt: 20 minutes of extra practice at the Sachsenring

But only for the MotoGP rider who will see Friday's FP1 and FP2 extended to 55 minutes

MotoGP: New asphalt: 20 minutes of extra practice at the Sachsenring

The resurfacing of the Sachsenring has led to many doubts, with Michelin increasing the number of tyre options for the German GP and the riders not knowing what to expect. To help them get to grips with the new surface, which no-one has yet had the chance to ride on, Friday's sessions will be lengthened from 45 to 55 minutes each.

The MotoGP riders will therefore have an extra 20 minutes in which to practice. FP1 will take place from 9.50 to 10.45, while FP2 will run from 14 to 14.55. Saturday's and Sunday's sessions remain unchanged.

One note though, we just specified that this is 'for the MotoGP riders' because the Moto2 and Moto3 guys won't enjoy this small advantage. Their sessions will run as usual and this will have to be enough. As we know, the Moto3 and Moto2 riders have the experience to be able to manage any situation... oh no, sorry, that would be the MotoGP field.

And so why have those riders who need it the most not been given the same opportunity? We have an idea, we wonder if you can guess...
