Max Biaggi was the victim of a serious accident on the Sagittario track in Latina while training on a Supermotard bike. The Roman rider was transported urgently via helicopter to the San Camillo Hospital in Roma with suspected thoracic and spinal trauma.

No details on his condition are known at the present, but we have heard from his team manager and friend Riccardo Giajvia that Damiano, his mechanic who was at the track, reported that he had erroneously been helped to his feet after the crash. After a fall, the possibility of serious injury should never be ruled out immediately.

Although Biaggi is busy full time in his role as CIV team manager, he has never stopped Supermotard training. This is a discipline that holds a special place in his heart. In fact, on Sunday he was to take part in the Assoluti di Italia round scheduled there on the Latina track.

We will publish updates as more information becomes available.
