The motorcycling world mourns the loss of Nicky Hayden, who has left a deep hole for the many two-wheeled fans. The day after his passing, and in accordance with the rider's own wishes, Nicky's family has agreed to organ donation. This is the parting gift of #69, who won everybody over with his smile and unmistakable American style.

Once his body is released, following authorisation issued this morning by the public prosecutor's office in Rimini, the family will leave for America. In the last hours, the relatives have been finalising the details in preparation for repatriation. A precise date is not yet known, but mother Rose and brother Tommy would like to return to America as soon as possible. According to sources, there will be no funeral chamber.

Investigations into the causes of the last Wednesday's accident are ongoing. The driver of the Peugeot, 30 years of age, is being investigated for vehicular manslaughter.
