MotoGP: Iannone: I cannot be satisfied with 10th place

Andrea Iannone just barely went through to Q2 on Friday, but he cannot be satisfied. This season start with Suzuki is causing him more problems than expected and Austin has not been the turning point that was hoped for.

“This morning, we had a lot of problems and we were able to solve a few - he explained - We improved a lot, but still not as much as I would like. Tenth place is not at all satisfactory for me. I would like to be battling with the best, as I was used to doing in recent years, but we are struggling. We will work hard, but it takes patience.”

What are the biggest limits?
“Essentially, we continue to have braking problems, they are not efficient. We are also having problems with the electronics. I will give it my all to improve, but I am disappointed to be in these positions.”

You usually say that your pace is better than your flying lap performance. Is that the case here too?
“My ideal time places me in 4th. If I had finished with a good lap I would have been farther forward, but I didn’t make it. The problem is that we are unable to find a better setting. In any case, Suzuki is working hard, they listen well and this is very positive. I think we will have to see what happens from mid-season on.”

You used the fairing with built-in spoilers in practice. Will you continue to use it?
“We will try without it now and then decide which configuration to use for the qualifiers.”
