Superbike is ready to start the engines and fly to Assen, where the fourth round of the season will take place at the end of the month. On the occasion of the presentation of the Dutch round, the renewal contract between the circuit and Dorna was made official. The factory derivatives will have a round in the Netherlands through 2021.

This is a tradition that dates back to 1992 and which will continue over time, Arjan Bos points out: “Obviously, we are happy about this renewal – the circuit’s managing director commented – We have an excellent relationship with Dorna and we want to increase Superbike’s interest in this historic track. Furthermore, for the event in Holland and in Northern Germany, it is important that local riders are on the track too. ”

Also attending the conference was Daniel Carrera: “It is a pleasure to announce this new agreement between the TT Circuit Assen and Dorna WSBK Organization, which will have the historic circuit hosting WorldSBK in Holland for the next five seasons - the Dorna CEO commented - WorldSBK will be on this track for the 26th year and this is an important track for both the championship and the history of the sport. This new contract reflects the cooperation method that the Dorna Group has established since taking over the series in 2012 and we cannot wait to see the coming strong seasons at the TT Circuit Assen. The new agreement paves the way to developing the popularity of WorldSBK and the financial sustainability needed that allows both parties to develop WorldSBK in Holland - he added - an exciting prospect for the circuit, the championship and the fans.”
