Operation redemption. This could be the title of the Austin round for Ducati after the Rio Hondo disappointment. In Texas, Andrea Dovizioso aims to turn the page after his crash two weeks ago in South America, unluckily hit by Aleix Espargaró’s Aprilia: “I was clearly quite heartbroken after the Argentine race – the rider from Forlì commented – Now, after a few days of holiday, I am fully focused on the Texas GP.”

The track is one that he likes. In 2014 and 2015 he finished on the podium and last year Pedrosa took care of taking him out of the game: “The Circuit of the Americas is a fantastic track – one of the best in the championship – the Borgo Panigale standard-bearer pointed out – it has very different characteristics from the previous tracks, Qatar and Argentina. I also like racing in Austin a lot because there is always a particular atmosphere, both on the circuit and in the city, and I am ready to do battle.”

Dovi is honing his weapons for the American weekend: “It will be a good opportunity to sort things after Termas - he said - I am confident that we will be able to be truly competitive on this track.”

There is an atmosphere of redemption in the Ducati camp for Jorge Lorenzo as well. At Termas de Rio Hondo, his race ended not even two corners after the start: “I do not want to think about what happened in Argentina any more – the Majorcan said - The end results so far have not been favourable for us, but I think that we are on the right path to improve. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, I have still not been able to demonstrate that.”

Number 99 is looking forward to the Texan round: “Austin is a great circuit where I still have not won, but the Ducati has always been competitive here and finished on the podium in the last three years - he analysed - It is a good track to continue with the evolution of the Desmosedici and my adaptation to the ride.” So, there is no lack of confidence on his part: “We are all optimistic on the team. We are working well together and I am confident that we will get over this rough patch soon.”
