SBK, Puccetti: "The 2018 target is Leon Haslam"

The Italian manager confirms his interest in the Brit, a definite wildcard at Donington. Agreement finalised with Kalex for the supply of new swing-arms

SBK: Puccetti: "The 2018 target is Leon Haslam"

During SBK testing at Aragon yesterday, Swiss rider Randy Krummenacher carried out some development work with the ZX10RR of team Puccetti, the Italian team supporting him as he makes his SBK debut.

Krummenacher's bike had a brand-new swingarm (the frame has to respect series specifications) created by Kalex, the German frame manufacturer that has done so well in Moto2. Team Manager Manuel Puccetti explained how the collaboration came about: "we've been working with Kalex for four or five months, to create a new rear swingarm -  reveals Manuel- it's truly a work of art. The part we tested today for the first time, aside from being beautiful, really works well. Randy was able to improve on his best time of the weekend by more than a second and a half. Soon Kalex will provide us with the next 'step' and we'll continue our agreement with them”.

Speaking of agreements, how do things stand with Leon Haslam?

We have the Donington round planned. If Haslam does well in the two races, we'll do the same at Jerez and Losail, two more wildcard appearances, taking advantage of the weekends in which British Superbike isn't running. I hope Haslam can do well, because he's our target for next year”.
