SBK: SSP: Jacobsen puts the MV on pole

His 2017 may not have started in the best way, considering the few points earned in Australia and the DNF in Thailand, but at Aragon PJ Jacobsen has decided to turn his season around. Pole position is his at the Spanish track, thanks to a time of 1’54”948, which puts the Mv Agusta back at the top of the Supersport timesheets.

Just 0.061 of a second behind the American is the category's king, or rather a returning Kenan Sofuoglu, who, despite still being in pain has proved immediately quick. The front row is completed by South African Morais (+0.090), followed by a very strong second row comprising Kyle Smith, Lucas Mahias and Roberto Rolfo, the best of the Italian, almost seven tenths from the front.

Seventh for Tuuli ahead of Okubo, with the top ten rounded out by Christian Gamarino (+1.547) ahead of Alessandro Zaccone (+1.870). Having missed Superpole 2 by just a few tenths, Chang winner Federico Caricasulo will start 13th, ahead of Jules Cluzel and Michael Canducci.

Anthony West suffered a technical problem during Superpole 1 (which caused a red flag) and was forced to leave his bike, in flames, in the run-off area.
