MotoGP: Iannone: I realised something important in Qatar

Despite his final position, Iannone left Qatar happy. The 13th time, almost a second from Vinales, is not a stand-out result, but the work completed has left the Suzuki men pleased. Starting with team manager Davide Brivio, who commented: “We've finished the test with a smile, it seems we've found some solutions that allow Andrea to ride in a more relaxed way”.

Particularly in terms of race pace, the GSX-RR has shown positive signs, while there's still work to do when it comes to the flying lap. Details that needs to be solved in time for race one, during the three test days that the riders have available next week at Losail.

The final day went like the previous two, I'm not super happy but not disappointed here  - explained Iannone - The most important thing is that I've learned something more each day. The last day was also the best, because we were able to understand one important thing”.

And this reassures the Italian.

In the end, I've improved a lot over the three days, lapping in 1’55” and there was a spark that's helped us understand the direction to take - he underlined - I've been able to maintain a pace that I've not had before and this makes me a little happier. We're still suffering with chattering, especially through turn 6, I can't slow down and get the bike in as I want to, but we've improved anyway. Mainly, I'm more confident in braking and can brake better than before”.
