The championship is yet to start but there's already an issue to resolve in the Garage Plus Interwetten camp. Iker Lecuona will miss the inaugural Qatar round due to a fractured collarbone sustained on the last day of testing at Jerez.

In his place the team has decided to bet on the experience of Julian Simon. The 2009 125 world champion has no contractual obligations to respect, having chosen to take a year off this season. He is therefore available to compete at Losail on 26 March.

As for Iker Lecuona, it is hoped that he'll be back on the bike in time for the Argentinian round at Termas de Rio Hondo.
