In Thailand too the two-time Superbike world champion Jonathan Rea has shown his superiority, signing his name to an authoritative double win, powering his Kawasaki ZX10RR to a limit that his rivals cannot match.

Four races into the championship and the same number of wins for the Northern Irish rider who is keeping the promise he made at the end of 2016, or rather, trying to win his third title by winning as many races as possible: “since I began racing, this is best ever championship start - states Rea happily- with four consecutive wins. The important thing is being able to score the best possible results, useful in terms of the championship”.

While in Australia Johnny had to fight for the wins, beating off Davies, in Thailand it all appeared a lot simpler for him: "with four wins, I'm almost half way to my number of wins in 2016- continues Rea- and here in Thailand I used the settings we had at Phillip Island, refining them slightly. My feeling with the Ninja has been good and I know we can improve further in coming races”.

Tom Sykes, up until today, has had to "settle" for great podium finishes, with a total of 3 scored across 4 races thus far: “today it wasn't possible to win - admits Tom- so I tried to do the smartest thing. I set a time of 1’33”7, my best of the whole race, when I saw Melandri coming closer, I attacked and reached the second step of the podium. For the next rounds, we'll try to close the gap that we have, as quickly as we can”.
