SBK, Melandri: "I suffered with the brakes, the last corner the most critical"

The Italian: "On the last lap, Sykes had it easy, I couldn't be aggressive. At Aragon we'll be more competitive"

SBK: Melandri:

The result was more or less a copy of Saturday's outcome, with the only difference that this time Marco Melandri didn't miss out on the podium. He'd almost secured a second place finish, but once again Tom Sykes got in the way. The Kawasaki rider got the better of the Ducati man at the final corner, forcing him to settle for third place.

A pity about the end.

“It's been a great weekend, conditions were not the best, and it's my first visit to Buri Ram too. Unfortunately it went the same as yesterday, with Sykes getting past me on the last lap. I suffered like I did in Race 1, I couldn't be as aggressive as I wanted, but I'm pleased with the result. It's always great to be on the podium”.

Kawasaki has something extra here.

“We're missing a little speed compared to the Kawasaki, as in certain sections Rea and Sykes had something more. This race has helped me to better understand the bike, to be competitive at Aragon”.

The braking let you down again.

“Staying close to the leaders is always important, unfortunately I was already suffering in braking right from Friday. The last hard braking point was the most critical, and I couldn't defend myself from Tom. He had it easy, in Europe things will be different”.

At Aragon there won't be the Thai heat either.

“I've really suffered here at Buri Ram, especially along the straight when the temperatures went up. Now we'll head to Spain, knowing that we have a competitive bike, but we still need to grow”.
