SBK: Lowes: "I've made a solid start to the season"

After a difficult season with all kinds of problems, Alex Lowes was looking for tranquility and solid results, and from the results obtained over the first two rounds of the new season it seems that he's heading down the right path. With today's fourth place finish, the Brit is now lying fourth in the championship with 49 points and more importantly hasn't had one zero to day. “Overall, it's been a positive weekend for me– analyses Lowes – and the team has done a really great job with the bike. Today I wasn't quick through the first laps, and when Laverty passed me I lost contact with the front guys. If I'd been constant over the entire race, I could have battled with them”.

The two long-haul rounds are over, and Lowes looks to the first European even, Aragon, with confidence and optimism; “I've made a solid start to the season, so I think we can continue along this line at Aragon. There are still many things to improve, both in terms of the bike and me, so now we can have a few days rest before starting to work towards the next race”.

Equally pleased with his performance today is Jordi Torres, who brought his BMW home in fifth position, improving on the seventh place finish achieved in race 1: “After the restart, I was lying seventh and got into a good rhythm, passing several riders. I gave 100% over the whole race, also because I was aware Davies was behind me and he closed in during the final laps”.

A big effort in the Thai heat but it brought the desired results. In the end I came home in fifth, a great result that I'm pleased with. It was only a pity about the red flag in the first heat, as I'd started well and was fast”.
