SBK, Four out of four for Rea at Buri Ram, Melandri third

The Northern Irishman proved unbeatable in race 2, Sykes again wins out over the Italian Ducati rider; Lowes fourth, Torres fifth, Davies sixth after a crash

SBK: Four out of four for Rea at Buri Ram, Melandri third

The only moment in which Johnny Rea appeared to be struggling was when the world champ was sitting in the Provec garage awaiting the second start, suffering from the terrible Thai heat and typical Asian humidity.

Nothing could stop the Kawasaki number 1 rider: starting from ninth was simply a formality, the red flag and battle with Melandri didn't even bother him; this Johnny was the best on track and four wins out of four are clearly deserved: “I made my best start of the season - comments a satisfied Rea- starting ninth wasn't easy, in the race I had great pace, thanks to the work of my whole team”. And who can stop him now?

Marco Melandri wanted to succeed in doing so. The Italian also raced very well today but is still missing that little something. The former 250 champion again came under attack by Tom Sykes at the last corner, handing the Brit second place in the process.

Chaz Davies also wanted to beat Rea but the Welshman crashed, without injury, while attempting to pass Melandri, in a hard braking point before a right-hand turn. In the second start, the #7 Aruba rider started last on the grid but was able to move up through the field as far as sixth, with his Panigale appearing to suffer in acceleration. Ahead of the Ducati rider were Alex Lowes with the Pata Yamaha, fourth, and Jordi Torres with the BMW, fifth.

Another grey day for Nicky Hayden, forced to deal with the scarce level of performance offered by his CBR Ten Kate; his team-mate crashed out while fighting towards the back of the field.

A good race for Alex De Angelis, eleventh, Riccardo Russo scores his first points, twelfth today with the Guandalini Yamaha;  Ayrton Badovini closed fourteenth with the ZX10R Grillini, while the other Italian, Lorenzo Savadori, was thrown into the air after the rear wheel of his Aprilia locked up. Another zero for Lorenzo but fortunately he was unhurt in the incident.

World standings: Rea 100, Davies 70, Sykes 62
