SBK: West held up by the budget, plans for Thailand go up in smoke

Costs were too high and in the end, Anthony West had to throw in the towel. After his unforgettable performance at Phillip Island, the Australian rider will not be at Buriram next weekend. The Thai trip was particularly expensive for the Yamaha rider, so he decided not to race.

He made the announcement himself on his Facebook page. However, this will not be the last we hear of him, because West will be back on the track in early April for the Spanish Aragón round. You read that correctly! He will be there for the first factory derivative European round.

In the meantime, the online fund raising continues, seeking contributions to the expenses of the Yamaha standard-bearer. Funds have already exceeded 6,000 Dollars. Anyone who would like to participate can click on this link: https://www.gofundme.com/ant-west-2017-race-season
