In the end he's been forced to throw in the towel. A serious setback in the Puccetti camp before the season even gets going. Kenan Sofuoglu will not take part in the opening round of the Supersport World Championship, taking place this weekend at Phillip Island. After the two-day test, the current world champion has decided, in agreement with the medical centre, to avoid taking any risks, considering the fracture to his wrist, an injury he sustained in January.

The Kawasaki rider will not just miss the Australian round, but also the Thai event, taking place from 11-12 March at the Buri Ram track. We won't see him back on track until Aragon, the first European event of that season.
