SBK, Savadori: "Im growing, but we have work to do"

The Italian is pleased with seventh place: "We've completed many laps to understand the bike and track. I can't wait to start".

Day one of testing didn't go to plan, but today Lorenzo Savadori made the most of the sunshine to put his Aprilia in seventh place, laying down the gauntlet ahead of the weekend's races. “We've had a very positive day – explains Lorenzo – particularly in terms of the number of laps we've completed, to help us understand the bike and track. We've taken steps forward, but we still need to improve in terms of the race. For now it's fine, but we definitely need to move forward”

SBK: Savadori: "Im growing, but we have work to do"

The Italian is under no illusions in terms of the pace up front, but he remains optimistic: “I've learned a lot by riding, and the bike is helping me, as is the engine. I've worked mainly on making the bike easier to ride. The weather remains an unknown, as even today there were temperature changes from the morning to the afternoon and the wind disappeared while that's usually a given. I'll have to adapt to the weather and the track conditions”.

The riders now have two days 'off' before work recommences for real on Friday, and Savadori can't wait to get going: “We're finally close to the first race! I'll be prepping for the weekend as of tomorrow. I'm happy to race here, a track that has its secrets, with its changes in grip due to the heat... is fascinating. Where might I be on the grid? If we can sorted we can be very fast”. There's superstition, yes, but also fighting words.
