MotoGP, Flash test for Stoner on Sunday at Sepang

Ducati has taken advantage of the track, reserved for sponsors, to conduct some quick tests with Casey and Pirro

MotoGP: Flash test for Stoner on Sunday at Sepang

There's no rest for the Ducati test team, not even on Sunday. According to the schedule, today should have been entirely dedicated to the making of promotional videos and main sponsor Phillip Morris had booked the track for this purpose.

The three-day test, from Wednesday to Friday, didn't go to plan as, firstly, rain and track conditions slowed things down and then on Friday there were technical issues with Pirro and Stoner's GP17 bikes.

The men in red therefore decided to make use of the Sepang track today too, when not in use for filming. It's not a real test of course, but rather some brief exits to check that everything is working, to avoid any nasty surprises for Lorenzo and Dovizioso, on track tomorrow.

Pirro worked during the morning before handing over to Stoner. In the early afternoon, Casey donned his leathers and helmet to complete some short runs, in which he didn't hold back - despite less than perfect track conditions - lapping in around 2’01”, a very respectable time.

The work didn't go on for long though, and by mid-afternoon Stoner had already finished. For today that is, as Casey will probably be on track on one, if not two, of the coming days, while Pirro will take part in all three alongside the official riders.
