SBK, Laverty: "I'm already thinking about Phillip Island"

At the end of the tests, the team Milwaukee Irishman is straining at the bit for the first race: "In Australia the RSV4 has already won. I can't wait to race"

Laverty: "I'm already thinking about Phillip Island"

The first test in view of 2017 has been completed for team Milwaukee SBK who, in just a few days, changed bike and riders. The BMW S1000RR machines were replaced by two Aprilia RSV4s and Lorenzo Savadori and Eugene Laverty took the place of Brookes and Abraham.

On the Jerez track, the British team worked in changing weather conditions, collecting a lot of useful data to be able to work on the 4-cylinders from Veneto.

Northern Irishman, Eugene Laverty is quite satisfied with the work done at Jerez: “Today I was able to do a total of 60 laps, taking advantage of the sun and the dry track. I compared a lot of the engine and frame parts, drawing some very positive aspects from them.

I am feeling more and more comfortable on the Aprilia and my feeling with the team continues to improve as they are proving to be truly professional.”

However, Eugene was impressed by more than just the technical prowess of his team. He was also struck by his colleagues’ attitudes: “Everyone is very optimistic here. We have the potential to have an excellent 2017 2017. I am already thinking about the first race at Phillip Island, where Aprilia has already won quite a few races and I can’t wait to begin racing.”

The rider from Cesena, Lorenzo Savadori, was also pleased with these three days at Jerez: “This test was very important for me and for the team; after days of unstable weather, the dry situation today made it easier to do my job on the bike.”

Another aspect that Lorenzo must face is the Milwaukee staff’s English language barrier: “It is not easy for me to communicate in English, but I am happy with these three days together. We know that there are a few changes that need to be made on the RSV4, but the team will work hard to solve the problems. I have time to prepare for the upcoming 2017 season and I am very enthusiastic about getting back to racing.”
