Binder undergoes surgery: four to five weeks for full recovery

The name is evocative, a Galeazzi Fracture, but the result is rather ordinary: it is a fracture-dislocation of the forearm and it is what Brad Binder suffered at Valencia during the Moto2 tests on his KTM.

The current Moto3 world champion crashed yesterday on turn 9, thrown from his bike, which then struck his left arm. After being taken to the Hospital Universitari Dexeus of Barcelona, he was operated on by Doctor Xavier Mir.

The radius was very displaced so we had to put it back in place, fixing it with a plate and seven screws - explained the doctor - Binder also has a small lesion of the interosseous membrane and this, without causing any problem, will delay somewhat the recovery of the rotation of his arm by about three weeks. We believe that in four or five weeks it will be cured.
