Francesco Bagnaia has won a lot more than a race at Sepang, and he'll receive his prize the Tuesday after the Valencia GP: On that day he'll climb on the Ducati MotoGP for a very special test. “I'd made a bet with Borsoi: if I won two races this year he'd let me test the  Desmosedici” explains the excited Aspar rider.

Job done as, after winning the Dutch GP, Pecco has now repeated the feat in Malaysia and, before riding the Moto2 for the first time at Jerez, he'll ride the Spanish team's GP14.

Were you thinking about the best during the race?
Honestly? yes. When I saw the red flag and realised I'd won I was so happy”.

A strange race, with many crashes. Was there a problem on track?
“Yes, there was a long oil mark at turn 7 and it was easy to crash there. I think the race should have been stopped, it was too dangerous.

How was your race?
It was the most difficult of my career, but also the best. I was in front of everyone, alone, for almost the entire race, it's not easy to stay focused and not make mistakes”.

Francesco BagnaiaWhat were you thinking about?
It seemed never-ending, I was just thinking about turn 7, being careful not to run over the oil. I saw some riders crash and then Binder in front of me, it was easier without Brad and Navarro. I tried to ride cleanly and the gap increased, so I started to manage it ”.

Was that the first time you were in that kind of situation?
It had happened to me in CEV, but this was the best race of my life. This year, I've grown a lot, mentally-speaking, I don't know if I could have done what I did today last year”.

Which was the most unexpected victory, this one or the win in Holland?
The win in Holland, because here I was top three in all the sessions. We did a great job, which is also useful ahead of Valencia”.

That will be your last Moto3 race, any regrets?
I'm 1.78 metres tall and weigh 63 Kg, so I'm struggling to fit on the Moto3, if I hadn't grown so much I would stay”.

In Spain you can also fight for second overall position in the championship…
Bastianini is 19 points ahead, which is a lot, but I don't know how he is physically. I'm happy to settle for 3rd”.
