SBK, SS, FP: Sofuoglu and Krummenacher dominate in Qatar

The Kawasaki Puccetti pair confirm the supremacy they've shown up until now, strong performances by Badovini and Baldolini in FP2

SS, FP: Sofuoglu and Krummenacher dominate in Qatar

Kenan Sofuoglu in FP1 and Randy Krummenacher in FP2 - this is how the Kawasaki men, riding for team Puccetti dominated day one, highlighting their riding talents and the performance of the ZX6R even in the dark at Losail.

The Turk, who already secured the world title at Jerez, set the fastest time in the first free practice on board his red bike, painted in honour of his home country, as we revealed several days ago. His time of 2’03”403 proved unbeatable with PJ Jacobsen closing in second on the Honda CBR, two tenths from the newly-crowned champion. Third for Jules Cluzel with the MV Agusta 675, followed by Kyle Smith and Ayrton Badovini with two Honda CBRs.

In the second Supersport session, Swiss rider Randy Krummenacher was the quickest of the session, proving that his second place in the championship is no coincidence. The Puccetti rider is only 3 points ahead of Jules Cluzel and intends to defend his championship position come Sunday. His time, a 2’01”986, seven tenths quicker than Badovini in second place, is enough for now.

Behind Ayrton on the Honda, is Alex Baldolini with the MV F3 who, after his injury and subsequent recovery, is back in shape in Qatar. Jacobsen and Smith finished fourth and fifth, while in sixth, almost a second behind Krummenacher, is Kenan Sofuoglu; but the Turk will undoubtedly be going for the top spot in tomorrow's Superpole.
