SBK, Camier: "Fourth? I didn't expect it"

Yet another great race for the MV Agusta rider at Magny-Cours, increasingly fast and optimistic: "we'll fight for the podium"

Camier: "Fourth? I didn't expect it"

Yet another great race for Leon Camier at Magny-Cours today. The English rider closed in fourth position, just nine seconds from race winner Chaz Davies on the Ducati, powering his MV Agusta F4 through the turns, with his elbow down, almost his shoulder in fact, defending himself well on the tricky French track.

After making a great start, the Brit battled it out with Dutchman Michael Van Der Mark and his CBR1000, lapping with a pace similar to the two race leaders; after 21 laps, Camier got the better of the Ten Kate rider, closing not far from the podium, a result that now seems within the reach of the rider and Italian bike, in constant development between the start of the season and now: “I'm really pleased with my race -explains a satisfied Camier- even though, to be honest, I didn't expect to be so fast on the dry track today. But right from the start I had great feeling with my bike, so much so that I could keep pace with the leading guys”.

After Jules Cluzel's win on the MV F3 Supersport,  the MV Reparto Corse team also demonstrated its commitment and the quality of its work in SBK: fourth is a great result, also considering the level of the leading riders and the bike they ride, not so much in terms of performance but rather the direct involvement shown by the racing departments of the manufacturers in question.

At times it may seem like a David versus Goliath level battle but Leon Camier is the most optimistic of the entire MV team: “I really think that in the future we will be able to be there with the leaders and fight for the podium, the gap is closing and today's result was possible thanks to my team's great work, so I thank them for that. We are getting stronger in each race and my bike continues to grow.
