SBK, Seven times the charm for Davies at Magny-Cours

Win number seven for the Welshman on the Ducati, in a race in which he put Rea and Sykes firmly in their place

Seven times the charm for Davies at Magny-Cours

Intelligence, cunning, strategy, bravery and speed... as well as the right bike. These were the winning ingredients for Chaz Davies, who triumphed once again at Magny-Cours today on board his Ducati Panigale. He ran the perfect race, making a good start, giving the two Kawasaki riders just enough trouble, controlling the situation from behind and then carefully choosing his moment to attack and pass his rivals, just as the tyres of their ZX10R machines were starting to slide a little too much...

This is win number 7 for Chaz, his third double win, and one that shows just how much he and his Ducati have grown: “today was more difficult than yesterday, after two or three laps my bike had little grip and I thought it would be tough, but I gritted my teeth and fought back, seizing the opportunity when Rea and Sykes touched each other. This is the best win of my career so far”.

How can we not agree with Chaz?! The Welshman lies third in the championship, behind Tom Sykes and Johnny Rea who today were left fighting for personal pride.

Another great race for Leon Camier on the MV Agusta, fourth and only nine seconds from winner Davies; Leon is strong, his team is very competent, if they could get more support from the mother company, the podium would be within reach.

Van Der Mark closes fifth, the first of the two Ten Kate Hondas, ahead of Lorenzo Savadori with the Aprilia. Jordi Torres is the first BMW rider in seventh place, followed by Guintoli and Hayden, eighth and ninth, although we expected more from the former SBK and former GP champions on French soil.

Classification: Rea 426, Sykes 378, Davies 345.
