Magny-Cours: Davies leads the way on Friday

Everything seems to be going swimmingly for Chaz Davies. The British Ducati rider got the job done again in FP2 to top the timesheets in both of the day's sessions, ahead of tomorrow's Superpole 2.  Having set the best overall time in the morning, the ducatista was once again out front in session two with a fastest time of 1.37"836, more than two tenths ahead of his closest rival. Second place for an aggressive Leon Camier, the MV rider confirms the current positive trend, closing 0.210 of a second from Davies.

Third for Tom Sykes, despite the former world champ citing technical problems, with some issues with the real wheel. Issues that didn't prevent him from closing ahead of his team-mate Jonathan Rea. The championship leader closes 0.309 from the leader and 0.077 from Sykes.

A solid fifth place for Alex Lowes with the Yamaha, despite a crash at the start of the session, with the rider limping away on an already injured foot. Lowes concludes ahead of Michael VD Mark on the Honda, ahead of Xavi Fores, who loses ground after the first session, and Lorenzo Savadori, improving despite some problems with feeling at the front of his Aprilia.

Sylvain Guintoli and Jordi Torres close in ninth and tenth place respectively. Someone who may be in more trouble right now is Davide Giugliano who, due to a bad shoulder, can't do more than 17th place. The Ducati rider stopped after the opening stages. Tomorrow will get underway with SP1.
