Marquez and Pedrosa test the 2017 engine at Aragón

Honda used its fifth and final day of testing yesterday at Aragón, where Marquez and Pedrosa tested the new 2017 engine. This is the second time that the two riders have used next year’s powerplant after the post-race tests at Misano.

In Tokyo they learnt the lesson from last year and decided to get a head start in order to have all the information they need for their work during the winter break. The Aragón weather was perfect, so with 24°C air temperature and 35°C on the asphalt, Marc and Dani were able to do a lot of laps.

Naturally, all lips are sealed. Over the last few days, Marquez had simply said, “I like the new engine. It is already at a good level and has a slightly different character from the current one.

To see if it goes faster as well we will have to wait for the two days of testing after the Valencia GP, when it will go head to head with the rivals for the first time.
