They say that fire smoulders in the embers, but maybe the flames between Rossi and Lorenzo never went out. It only took a spark at Misano, in the form of a pass, for it all to reignite. We don't need to call the firemen quite yet, but the pair don't hide the fact that there is simply no relationship between them.
“I don't know why Jorge got so angry at Misano, I really enjoyed that pass - smiles Valentino - After what happened between us last year, we haven't become closer or less close. We've each maintained our own opinions”.
At least the team-mates agree on this point.
“After the Sepang accusations, there is practically no relationship between me and Rossi - confirms the Majorcan - I don't know what will happen in the future, Marquez did what he felt was right and I did the same”.
Next year at least, they won't share the same garage.
“I've always had team-mate and have always done my job, regardless of our relationship. Nothing will change, we're here to win and all the rest is secondary”, he continues.
Naturally he hasn't changed his opinion regarding that pass, in fact he's even more convinced after having watched it back on TV.
“While riding I only noticed that he was 10 cm from me and that if I hadn't stood my bike back up I could have crashed - he explains - But from the images you can clearly see that he's not taking a normal line, neither in braking or in mid turn. Each person has his own opinion and that has to be respected, I didn't like the fact he laughed when I said my piece. Having said that, I don't want this story to go on and become more than what it is.
